An experimental psychological thriller that lives in a surreal soundscape because that is the nature of body dysphoria.
Selfie follows a young person attempting to paint a self-portrait and, by doing so, struggles to differentiate between self and self-image. I was inspired by Chris Marker’s La Jetée (1962) and how he exercised photographic composition to explore the narrative rather than traditional dialogue. Selfie was a finalist for New York International Women Festival as well as nominated for SF Indie Short Festival and London Indie Short Festival.
